Autosomal DNA, Y-DNA, X-DNA, and mtDNA testing and results all have their pros and cons for helping to solve a genealogy mystery. When used in tandem, the synergy of these various forms of DNA evidence aids in pinpointing (or ruling out) relationship scenarios and the source of shared DNA.

Thank you. This was so informative and interesting. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to DNA and mostly my understanding of genealogy has come through working out the logic of it myself rather than learning from anyone else. Having hit various brick walls that historical records are not (so far) resolving I decided it's time to understand better the uses of DNA... I had to listen to parts of your talk at least twice to grasp it all fully but I am now fascinated and hooked on the subject. I'm looking forward to putting these strategies into practice.
Great Webinar - interesting information presented by an easy to understand speaker who is knowledgable in his field.
Very interesting and informative.
It was going to be beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and I recently did my 1st DNA test so I thought I might learn a new thing, and then get confused or later things wouldn't work because I have endogamy. But Paul explained things so well that I could stick with him even when he got to the advanced stuff. I think that I could still use those ancestor charts he had at the end. No Y, No Mt, Yes X exclude some combinations. Then clues to which river to explore.
Wow! Great webinar with a lot of information. Definitely for advanced DNA study.
Great content. I'll be referring back to it in the future.
So incredibly helpful! I have some new ideas brewing for how to approach a couple of tough spots in my DNA research that I can't wait to try out. Thank you!
Very informative.
