Sometimes the answers we seek will not be in the records of our ancestor. Turning to the records of their FAN Club - their Friends/Family, Associates and Neighbors - may have what we are looking for. Join Geoff Rasmussen as he walks you through a simple case study of using the FAN Club methods.

Oh my goodness. Why did I never think to use the social security death index that way? That's brilliant! Thanks Geoff!
Thank you Geoff for your fascinating presentation. I learnt a lot and will be putting your concepts into practice. One thing that I don't understand is how Ida is related to the Browns next door. I may have missed something here.
Hi Kenneth! I'm glad you enjoyed the webinar. At the beginning, Ida was just a really quick example to help explain the concept, but the case study was built on the Brown family.
I am so sorry that you had Covid and pray for complete healing and restoration for you.\n\nThank you for your great video. I wish that I had known about the FAN club method way back in 1979 when I first started researching my family, back when my maternal grandma was still living. \n\nBut, currently and going forward, I am trying to take notice of the witnesses on documents and starting a tree for them, too. Who knows where that will lead, but I hope it leads to the parents of my maternal line 2nd great-grandmother. :)\n\nThank you again. Have a blessed weekend.
Thank you for this presentation. It also highlights the necessity of thorough documentation before we run into problems, because we never know when we might need that information later. Get better soon, Geoff!
This was a fascinating actual learning experience....watching you go through so many FAN's in this case study. I also didn't know about the website that you gave for Germanroots. Thank you for that. Sorry to hear that you had COVID, and hope you are doing a lot better now. I notice that you are still coughing...allergies, side effects from your Covid experience, other. I'll be praying for you!
I really enjoyed this webinar, wish I had also been more attentive to these names on my documents, but will be more attentive now. Thank you for the wonderful learning experience. Linda Nussbacher. Looking forward to much more learning to follow.
Informative, persuasive, and delightful.
I learned so much. Especially the last webinar - on migration routes, and using FAN to deepen my research. These sessions will help me take my research to the next level.
