About this webinar

Oral tradition told the story; DNA identified the father. The case study illustrates using matches on Ancestry and GEDmatch to narrow the number of candidates, developing and implementing a targeted testing plan, hypothesis development and using documentary evidence to support the conclusion---while complying with genetic standards. The use of the X-match, not often employed is utilized as well. It’s a simple case to illustrate basic principles without jargon.

I have a similar research project. Will watch this webinar again and review the NGSQ article. Thank you.\n\nI help adoptees find their birth families and this was excellent. Thanks so much!\n\nI just Love Jill! She always explains such interesting things!\n\nI love learning from case studies. Jill's speaking cadence is excellent; she doesn't rush.\n\nI really enjoyed the [presentation- very clear information.\n\nI thought Jill Morelli was clear, thorough and provided an interesting and informative case study. I loved it. Thanks.\n\nI'm trying to help a best friend find her birth parents. So I need all the help I can get.\n\ninteresting\n\nInteresting and well organized DNA case study.\n\nInteresting and well presented\n\nInteresting approach in solving your unknowns\n\nInteresting, educational and thorough.\n\nit was a bit over my head. Presenter was excellent.\n\nIt was interesting.\n\nIt was probably a 5 for those who know something about DNA. Since I know next to nothing, it was way over my head!!! BUT it was very interesting!\n\nIt was very informative and well-paced. My only wish is that it was a bit longer so Jill could go deeper into her elimination process. Thanks!\n\nIt was very interesting!\n\nJill clearly defines the process without using a lot of technical information.\n\nJill has a good way to explain the concepts and with the handout providing more detail, as you follow the case. One suggestion because it seemed a little easy: during the question and answer period, a boarder was mentioned who she considered but then eliminated; putting that into the case would help expand what other options might have been within the scope. This should be very helpful for identifying how a DNA match to my husband fits in the family through an adopted mother.\n\nJill is a terrific presenter. Clear, concise, and professional. She evokes a sense of trust. No wonder she was able to get several potential testers to follow through on DNA testing. Well done!!\n\nJust a bit above my head, but I'll get there. \n\nLiked the step by step approach.\n\nLove a good case study. Lots of ideas for research.\n\nLOVE DNA talks! Thank you.\n\nLove the clear details, inlcuding relationships, project steps, and dna results that led to the conclusion.\n\nLoved seeing her step by step details. I'm somewhat organized but I would love to be more methodical!\n\nMolly is a great speaker and VERY knowledgeable. I learned a lot - always a good outcome.\n\nMost enjoyable and educational. Good example of case study.\n\nOne of my favorite presenters. Complex methodology presented very well; not only did she verify that I was approaching my brick wall correctly, but she gave me ideas on how to present it to others in a clear, easy to understand way.\n\nOutstanding webinar!\n\nParticularly liked her summary of how she answered the questions, but her honesty about how she learned - using the webinars, some she watched multiple times attests to the complexity of both her work and the quality of the webinar library! Excellent!\n\nReally good case study. I think I can use Jill's "average" technique to make one profile in WATO - I will be checking that out rather than having separate ones set out for each of my mother's siblings for finding their grandfather's father. Also, loved her "write as you go" technique and will follow up on that. I hate having a separate research log and keep abandoning them, here there and everywhere so needed another method. Thanks!\n\nSo helpful! Thank you!\n\nSo thorough! Jill describes the situation so thoroughly. And does an excellent handout with lots of resources. Thank you!\n\nTerrific\n\nThank you for a very informative presentation. This gave me some ideas to use in my search for my birth father (no clue to a name, in England and not very good DNA matches). This has been a quest for over fifty years and I am not giving up. Thank you again.
