When you get up to 16 generations, that's a lot of folders under other folders. I do as you do: girls with parents until married. That has always worked for me too.

Looking forward to hearing Cyndi again, and thanks, too, to Marian.\n\nI feel confident now to start organizing my digital genealogy files into folders and to be able to save information I previously didn't. Thank you SO much CYndi\n\nI felt I was jumping around to quickly. As I get older I find I need a slower approach. Personal issue I guess.\n\nI got some very good ideas to try with my computer files. Thanks!\n\nI had not heard Cyndi before. She is TERRIFIC! I am already doing a number of the things she described, but I will be considering other tips which were new to me. That was time very well spent! Thank you. \n\nI have been working on family history for 30? years and understood most of what Cyndi was sharing with us. I also learned some new tips that I will apply to my records. THANK YOU CYNDI!!\n\nI have learned new methods of organizing my files on the computer that makes sense. I have a little bit of each idea she provided ... but the Date Order in a subfolder was the magic bullet. It might take 2 days to reorganize things but this could not have come at a better time. Wish I had known that \nyou could just work in the dropbox files and have it automatically update the item in the non-cloud computer file - some day I might learn how I am supposed to be using Dropbox.
