A remarkable and thorough discussion of the myths and assumptions perpetuated through the decades concerning Scotland had its history. Thank you Bruce, for the references and hints/tips for us to follow up to get closer to the facts, and to displace assumptions/errors made by so many so-called "experts in the past.

What a place to find so many of the myths I've heard so well debunked. I'd always heard my family history described as Scots-Irish; now I know the differences and can redirect my work correctly.

Absolutely fascinating talk by Bruce Durie, although all too short. So much information to take in, I will rerun the talk in my own time, so thank you for providing this. A big thank you to Bruce who was one of my tutors when I studied genealogy at the CLL, Strathclyde University, Glasgow. His lectures were always vibrant, interesting and made us want more. A most enjoyable and interesting Webinar.

I am going to Scotland next month. This webinar helped me to understand the topics more than other things I have read. Kudos to the presenter, Dr. Durie. Maybe I won't be fooled by some of the merchants now.
