About this webinar
Recording our research on the FAN Club of our ancestors can be a time-intensive task. How many times have we inadvertently duplicated a record or found that we did not record one correctly? One tool to help keep track of our research is Airtable, an online platform for creating and sharing relational databases. It works in a similar way to a spreadsheet but is much more powerful. Enter your information into tables, create an association between the tables, and Airtable then links that data to make it easier for you to identify relationships. There is a free version of Airtable, and it is easy to use, even if you have never used a database before. Learn how to use Airtable to keep track of FAN club members, correspondence, research logs and images - a powerful tool that can extract data in seconds.

I like using the Kanban view to see my ancestor's timelines. I have hundreds of my great great grandfather's newspaper clippings, plus other genealogical documents, land records and other dated reference points (world and community events). It's super helpful for conceptualizing their lives and for getting a feel for their stories.
Loved you demonstration of all the different views and options for genealogy using airtable. I especially loved the formula for birth calculation base. I was trying to re-create the formulas and was not successful. I was wondering if you would be willing to share the base.

Airtable is an app on my phone that I have never used! After this webinar, I am going to give it a try at least for spreadsheets. Not being a computer native, the advanced techniques are going to take some time do master, but, I hope to advance my skill set.
Hi Therese, No problem with taking your time to learn the software. Nicole Dyer has some templates on Universe that can help get you started. I will be adding some there over time.

Good overview well presented . Seems to be or can be a program like Legacy or Roots Magic with collaboration in the cloud.
Francine is brilliant! So impressed with her knowledge. And she took a very slow pace so we could follow all the details since this is very new to most of us...but she made it inspiring more than scary.
Was good to see other options for data management programs. I like how she kept it simple, but provided enough detail to understand the basic function of Airtable. I would like to see a webinar with MsExcel, MsProject manager, Airtable, MsAccess, compared and contrast, or at least some examples of the fancy results or search features. In the beginning of researching family history, its hard to see which, if any, is better than other providers like Family Tree or My Heritage, etc.
