General rules of DNA inheritance assume independent genealogical lines. However, cases of endogamy, pedigree collapse and multiple levels of relationship to any given genetic match merit additional considerations for analysis and interpretation. Explore strategies such as segment analysis, targeted testing, anchoring, and variable segment thresholds for overcoming the challenges of endogamy, pedigree collapse or multiple relationships in your DNA test results.

Very easy to listen to and keep up.\n\nStill learning the terms and links.\n\nstill trying to understand some of the language to be able to understand some aspects of DNA results\n\ntechnical content was specific and helpful but hard to process without syllabus. Important topic to have presented. Thanks!\n\nThank you, an amazing and informative presentation. \n\nThank you, Paul! I think I learn something new from you every time.\n\nThe presentation was excellent, but I did not understand it as well as I would have liked.\n\nThe webinar included lots of great information. Thank you.\n\nThis was too advanced for me. I would to have a sequence to follow from DNA beginner & upward.\n\nThis webinar was excellent! It contained a lot of valuable and practical tips for using DNA in genealogy research. I especially appreciate the Your Turn! exercises. They are very helpful to DNA newbies who are hands-on learners like myself. \n\nVery advanced, but I can see ways I can begin to distinguish between useable matches. Thank you!\n\nVery clear presentation. Good pace. Good graphics. \n\nVery good explanation of a complex subject.\n\nVery good presentation. I'll have to watch again. thank you\n\nvery interesting. But just a little above my level at this point. I'm learning!\n\nvery interesting. gave me some ideas. well done.\n\nVery much appreciated the level of detail presented and speed of doing so. Allowed you to cover more topics than I expected. Usually too much basic or background material is covered before the nuggets. \n\nVery useful. Just need time to implement the suggestions...\n\nVery well prepared and presented. Thank you!\n\nVery well presented & I feel I’m finally getting to understand DNA\n\nWas good, but moved very fast. I wish the syllabus addressed the parents being related to each other. \n\nwell done now it is starting to make sense at last.
Great topic, great speaker\n\nGreat webinar. Easy to follow considering the complexity of the topic. Gave me some new techniques to consider.\n\nGreat webminar by Paul as usual!\n\nGreat well presented well explained I like the graphic about groups so much easier to understand and see how the groups are visually. Thanks PAUL !\n\nGreat!\n\ngreat. Thanks paul. My head is spinning.\n\nHe covered a lot of material and it will be good to review the syllabus and watch it again. The suggested research techniques will be quite useful. Thank you both! \n\nI agree on all accounts but one--X DNA can be extremely challenging to trace even at 30 cMs. Otherwise, all very good, and thanks\n\nI have so much to learn.. \n\nI hope to employ some of the ideas gleaned from this webinar. Presenter Paul Woodbury is a genius. \n\nI realized that I have pedigree collapse, not endogamy on my tree, so this webinar was not for me.\n\nI really enjoyed it.\n\nI think I'll need to re-watch this one to help me really understand my endogamous Newfoundland cousins. Thank you\n\nI was not able to establish a good connection or downlaod the hand out.\n\nI will enjoy trying these suggestions. --- Soon.\n\nI'm new to ancestry research and this webinar helped me understand better about DNA relationships and how to discern close and not-so-close matches. My heritage is Mennonite from Northern Europe for which there are extensive records housed in a database. Extremely endogenous connections based on the info in this webinar. Thanks.\n\nInteresting discussion. But I learned that I have pedigree collapse on my fathers family, not endogamy. \n\nIt really helped clarify what I can assume from genetic pioneer data, which I had often thought but wasn't confident to assume. Also various other tips were helpful.\n\nIt was a bit advanced for someone new to the subject. Also, it would have been nice to be able to see the speakers.\n\nIt was really interesting and a lot of information. I've forgotten whether this webinar was promoted as suitable for advanced DNA users, but it should be.\n\nIt's a bit advanced for me. But I did definitely learn that pedigree collapse and endogamy are not the same thing.\n\nJust too advanced for me. \n\nLittle too advanced for me but took away a few points.\n\nLots of info - I had to come in late so I hope to re-watch later. Thanks!\n\nLots of information. This is the kind of webinar you need to watch more than once.\n\nLots of stuff new to me, well-organized and presented so it made sense- I learned a lot and looking forward to applying it. Experienced a few light bulbs going off already. \n\nLoved it! I've been to Paul's endogamous presentations before in the past and this time, I really loved his strategies! \n\nMade several items clearer. Not for the beginner.\n\nMuch needed information! Presenter was very clear, organized & knowledgeable. Great suggestions for further learning. Thanks!\n\nMuch of the webinar was over my head - need to re-watch another time or two. Great information, however.\n\nNew concept to me is Genetic Pioneers. A different way to consider my French Canadian Grandfather who married into my deep Early New England ancestry.\n\nPaul gave some great tips, looking forward to trying them out!\n\nPaul is a great teacher with thorough handouts!\n\nPaul is ALWAYS great! He is knowledgeable and able to communicate this knowledge to others. Fabulous presentation!\n\nPaul Woodbury is knowledgeable and interesting speaker.\n\nPaul Woodbury presents the information in an easy to understand format.\n\nQuite helpful\n\nReally great presentation on a difficult topic. The visuals were very helpful\n\nreally great, but reviewed concepts a little bit too fast\n\nReally helpful. Told some others to watch as well.\n\nSo glad to finally have a webinar on endogamy - I know that I will be rewatching again in the future\n\nso much info in a short time. I'll know better after I digest the syllabus and try the techniques.
A bit over my head but I do feel that I have a better understanding of my husband's endogamy. He is from a small community of French Canadians settle in an area isolated from the English speaking community, both of his parents are from this community, luckily both of his grandfathers married outside of this groups and therefore have weakened the endogamy effect. Now I need to visit the other sources indicated by Paul and watch this one again.\n\nA little over my head, but I did get some basic points from it. Now I have to look for descendants of one couple of 4th grandparents, to see if I can separate their line from another Irish line, because the genetic cousins I have so far are all descended from both lines, as am I, due to brothers marrying sisters 6 generations ago.\n\nA lot of very good content clearly presented\n\nA very good insight to a complex enough topic without adding in endogamy. Thanks! Learned a lot. Lots to try out.\n\nAlways love to listen to Paul's webinars-tons of new info to explore!\n\nAmazing\n\nAmazing! Loaded with helpful explanations, organized to help us address our genealogy puzzles.\n\nAnother brilliant webinar from Paul. Thank you all so much!\n\nanother great webinar! \n\nAppreciate the information that was shared. \n\nAppreciate the topic. I had a few lightbulb moments and I'm excited about trying some of the suggested analyses.\n\nAwesome Very Informative and helpful!!!!!!\n\nAwesome!\n\nCovered a lot of information.\n\nDetailed subject but useful practice tips! to help understanding\n\nExcellent\n\nExcellent explanation and great ideas for dealing with endogamy. Thank you very much.\n\nExcellent presentation. \n\nExcellent presenter, both content and delivery. Thank you!\n\nexcellent syllabus, as well\n\nExcellent tips and explanations. Great examples!\n\nExcellent!\n\nExcellent! Excellent! Paul Woodbury is one of the best speakers on DNA. I've attended several of his lectures on and off Legacy Family Tree Webinars. He explains everything so clearly.\n\nExcellent!!\n\nExcellent, but I missed much of it because of another commitment. Fortunately, I have a subscription!\n\nExcellent. Thank you.\n\nexceptional!!\n\nFabulous explanations with difficult subject.\n\nFantastic! Can't wait for the next one!\n\nFascinating\n\nFast and deep, time well spent, need time to decompress, loved it!\n\nFirst webinar; found it very interesting as my paternal line is completely Acadian from New Brunswick/Nova Scotia\n\ngood\n\ngood info\n\nGreat\n\nGreat info, Paul is a great presenter.\n\nGreat information and detail.
