Henrietta Dixon was never enumerated with individuals identified as her parents in a federal census. Records revealing her family members, including her father, are often conflicting and open up new questions. Additionally, multiple marriages further obscure her identity. This case study uncovers Henrietta's maiden name and emphasizes the importance of a focused research question when attempting to meet the Genealogical Proof Standard.

Often when I view these webinars, some of the most valuable tips I pick up along the way are subtle things used in the explanation of the main topic, such as the chart Ms. LaRue used to organize the records she found on Henrietta Dixon. While the main topic taught me a great deal, this chart method is something I'm going to immediately implement to help me review my own brick walls!
This presentation was absolutely fantastic. The case helped to drive home the need to follow each piece of evidence in a document as well as to document an negative information that might be uncovered. Fascinating presentation!
Very informative. Good information.
It got a bit confusing with all the Samuels. I know it's not professional, but they needed nicknames in my opinion.
Riveting presentation. starts wheels turning for me. Love the tables.
There were clear correlations made and reasons for looking at specific records. I liked the charts and screenshots.
Excellent presentation!
Nicole LaRue's webinar was interesting but, for me, a little difficult to follow. I'll have to go thru my GPS book again.
