A very interesting webinar. Melisa is such a great presenter because she makes the ordinary come alive! The advice to look at all the information we already have as a starting point is so sensible. Looking for female ancestors may actually start with going over information about a male ancestor. Thanks again for great information and advice.

So many suggestions & ideas. I have boxes of letters, etc.
I've always used the newspapers and have gotten great information. It's the only way I would have known my 2nd great grandfather filed for bankruptcy in England in 1851. He's a make, but I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. Always have found good information on the females in my family.
This was interesting to watch. I loved all the stories of real people. Melissa gave many places to try and find sources for our female ancestors. I love how she encouraged us to write our stories as well as our ancestors stories.
Melissa generated great memories of things that I could/should be documenting about my relatives - particularly my Mom, but also my grandmothers who did have interesting hobbies.
All good information, and well-presented. I felt it really needed to include more on how to find and engage with archives, though, and I would have settled for a little less of the other content to learn more about that.
Melissa gave an amazing presentation. I always enjoy her talks and it's a great reminder to use the archives! It also reminded me that I need to do more research on my 3rd great aunt, Arabella Sargent. It was just the encouragement I needed. Thanks Melissa and thanks Geoff for the DNA Kit! What a great surprise!
