Charles Olin disappeared from his Nebraska roots about 1908. The DNA in the descendant of an out-of-wedlock child born in 1919 point to Charles as the father, but no records place him there. This case study proves the alternate identity Charles used for 40 years.

Love this case study
Mary, what a wonderfully interesting presentation! I've read/watched your other presentations on Olin and loved seeing this behind-the-scenes look at how you solved it. I'm always especially interested in the turning point in researching a tough problem and found your explanation very satisfying. Thank you for sharing this with us!
EXCELLENT!!!!

Mary's perseverance is just amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent case study - explained very clearly & a fun story! Also the handout is very helpful with possible reasons for a name change and suggestions for ways to research.
excellent!
Awesome presentation. It gave me some ideas about where to look for missing relatives whose names may or may not have changed.
